Theophilus Adjei
Clinical Director & Co-Founder
Hello, I am Theophilus Adjei, the clinical director and co-founder of Mountain Top Therapy. I oversee our practice's clinical operations and strategic direction in these roles. I am a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ABSW) and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
With a wealth of experience, I have served as an Addictions and Concurrent Disorder therapist at a treatment facility in Toronto, Ontario. I am a Mental Therapist in private practice and with a reputable Mental Health organization that provides brief therapy services. My academic journey includes a master’s in social work from the University of Toronto’s Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. I have also served as the Outreach Coordinator for the faculty's Alumni Association.

My values are deeply rooted in my family. I am a proud and imperfect husband of five years to an exceptionally wondrous and phenomenal woman who stuck with me through thick and thin. I am even more fortunate to be a father of two young boys who keep me on my toes and remind me of how old I am. These personal experiences shape my understanding and compassion towards the individuals I support.

My work is deeply rooted in compassion and individualized support. I am a passionate advocate for grassroots initiatives and underserved communities, striving to make mental health and life-sustaining resources accessible. Understanding the uniqueness of every individual I support is crucial, so I strive to ensure that every journey one's interpersonal needs.

With judgment-free, compassionate care at the forefront, I hope to support my clients by shifting the focus away from their stress-induced problems towards opening up the floodgates of personal resolve. I thrive on helping people help themselves towards a life of wellness, resilience and positivity.

Hello, I'm Stephen Owusu, CEO, and Co-Founder of Mountain Top Therapy. With a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Recreation Management and Community Development from the esteemed University of Manitoba, my commitment to social services is unwavering. I am excited to leverage my extensive experience and unwavering passion to advance our mission.
My journey in social services has been shaped by a deep commitment to youth mentorship, counselling, and addiction support. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life, from children to adults, focusing on mental health and well-being. My belief in the transformative power of mentorship and counselling drives me to create meaningful programs that empower young people to overcome challenges and thrive.
As a proud father of three, the family holds a special place in my heart, and this personal commitment mirrors my broader vision of creating supportive communities where individuals can flourish. Central to this vision is my advocacy for mental health awareness and the destigmatization of therapy within diverse communities. I firmly believe that by breaking down barriers to mental health support, we can enhance the quality of life for individuals and foster stronger, more resilient communities overall.
At Mountain Top Therapy, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead this endeavour. Together, let us continue to champion the cause of mental health and community well-being, making strides towards a brighter and more inclusive future for all.
